The biggest skincare trends of 2020
This is your 2020 reminder to go through your skincare
collection and toss out anything that's expired — no need to bring those oldies
into the new year, y'all. If one of your resolutions for the new decade is to
~finally~ achieve the skin of your dreams, I highly suggest keeping 2020's biggest skincare
trends in mind.
From on-the-rise product types to the ingredients
you'll soon see everywhere, here's everything you need to know about the latest
advances in skincare.
Less Aggressive Skincare
While we
see 10-step Korean skincare routine tutorials online, we all
know we don’t have the time for it. 2020 will be all about simplifying
the tedious skincare routine. It will bring back the cleanse-tone-moisturize-sunscreen routine
with weekly masking and exfoliating instead of layering
hundreds of serums and potions every morning.
Liquid Beauty
Liquid exfoliates are big news on the beauty scene, and their
popularity is souring. Beauty editors and experts hail their gentle yet
powerful ability to leave skin radiant and glowy, so it's no wonder Pinterest
searches for the term are up 58%. And now, thanks to new innovative product
launches, more of us are adding liquid exfoliates to our skincare routine.
Acids Go Natural
Natual
acids are more gentle approach than traditionally popular acids like AHA and BHA, and sourced from natural botanical
extracts. Botanical AHAs can come from the hibiscus flower or coconut flower
and are a great way to get the benefits of exfoliation without the irritation.
Minerals Are The New Vitamins
We’ve seen a huge rise in the popularity of supplements
and adaptogens in the last year in particular (stay tuned for some reviews),
and we love the boost they give our mood and skin. studies show 50% of the population
are deficient in select minerals, which is why she believes “Minerals will be a
new wave in skincare – topical application in addition to ingestion is a must.”
